I recently switched from the stock OCC cable to a zinc copper alloy cable. The zinc copper alloy cable boosted the bass and boosted the lower midrange by around 1 to 1.5 dB relative to the rest of the frequency response. This resulted in punchier bass and helped to better align the low end response with the somewhat bright upper midrange and treble response. The Quintet's overall frequency response now sounds noticeably more balanced.

You might want to try them with the narrow bore tips included, or with a narrower bore the those wide-bore tips included. With the wide-bore tips I agree with your sound profile. But when I switched to some narrower bore tips, the bass greatly improved (Or the treble was reduced more likely...). Huge sound difference for me.
